About CiphLy

CiphLy Inc., a subsidiary of North Cipher Valley Inc. Powering your presence.

CiphLy is redefining how brands connect, engage, and stay unforgettable. More than NFC keychains or digital business cards, CiphLy turns everyday interactions into marketing opportunities. Every tap isn’t just data, it’s brand exposure. Instead of one-time swag, companies create lasting, interactive touchpoints that keep working long after the event ends.

Businesses, event organizers, and brands give branded keychains to their customers, students, or attendees. Every keychain opens a personal bio page for the person holding it, with the sponsoring brand’s background, logo, and links built in, and sponsors get analytics on every tap. The platform is also open to individual creators and professionals, who can build a free profile at bio.ciphly.com, add it to Apple or Google Wallet, and share it with a tap or a link.

By blending hardware, mobile technology, and cloud systems, CiphLy is building a new game in marketing, where presence becomes influence and connections turn into measurable impact. The app is live on the App Store, the web platform is in production, and we’re a small team that ships fast.

With CiphLy, your brand doesn’t just show up. It stays.

See what you’d be working on:

About the role

You’ll be CiphLy’s main developer. You will work directly with the founder, Hannan Max, who built the product and will hand it over to you piece by piece. He sets priorities and reviews your work. You write the code, ship it, and keep it running.

Real ownership here means:

  • You are the first person who looks at a bug, a crash report, or a failed build
  • You decide how to implement a feature once the goal is agreed
  • You ship your own releases to TestFlight and Google Play, and deploy your own web changes
  • You keep dependencies, security rules, and CI healthy without being asked
  • Your name is on the commits, the pull requests, and the release notes

The work spans three connected codebases: the Flutter mobile app (iOS and Android), the bio.ciphly.com web app, and the shared Firebase backend. Most of your time goes to the mobile app. The rest is split between the web front end and Cloud Functions. You’ll get a clear task list and see your work go live within days.

This is a great fit for a student or recent grad who has already shipped at least one real app and wants to run a live product rather than work a ticket queue.

What you’ll do

  • Build features and fix bugs in the Flutter app, then ship them through TestFlight and Google Play
  • Maintain the web app (Vite + vanilla JavaScript) that renders user profiles, login, and dashboard pages
  • Write and update Firebase security rules, Cloud Functions (Node.js), and Firestore data models
  • Keep dependencies current across Flutter, npm, and Firebase, and fix what the upgrades break
  • Add the first automated tests to the mobile app and keep CI green
  • Improve performance, SEO, and reliability of the public profile pages

What we’re looking for

  • Flutter and Dart experience with at least one app you’ve built and shipped, even a personal or course project
  • App Store and Google Play publishing. You must know how to take a build from Xcode and Android Studio through App Store Connect, TestFlight, and Google Play Console: certificates and signing, provisioning profiles, release tracks, review submissions, and rejections
  • Solid Firebase knowledge: Firestore, Authentication, Storage, and reading and writing security rules
  • JavaScript fundamentals: DOM, fetch, async/await, ES modules. No framework required
  • Comfort reading and modifying Node.js code
  • Git and GitHub: branches, pull requests, clear commit messages
  • Your own Mac capable of running the current Xcode. iOS builds and App Store releases require it, and we do not provide hardware
  • You finish a written task list with light supervision and ask before guessing

Nice to have

  • Xcode Cloud, Fastlane, or other release automation
  • Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, PassKit, or NFC
  • GitHub Actions
  • Flutter widget testing
  • An eye for security: escaping user content, never committing secrets

Details

  • 15 hours per week, flexible scheduling around classes
  • $20 per hour, paid on payroll with a T4
  • Remote or hybrid in Ontario
  • Ongoing role, not a fixed-term internship
  • Bring your own Mac; an iPhone or Android test device is a plus

This position is on SIN only. You must have a valid Canadian Social Insurance Number and be legally eligible to work in Canada. This is a payroll position with standard deductions. We do not hire contractors, pay by invoice, or pay in cash for this role. Students on a study permit are welcome and are responsible for staying within their permitted weekly work hours.
